BLESS

"What if DOOM was about mercy?"

BLESS is a short experimental game created during a 48-hour game jam.
It turns the classic “rip and tear” formula on its head — replacing violence with compassion, speed with tenderness, and metal with sacred opera.

Gameplay

In BLESS, you are not a warrior.
You are a Blesser, wandering a desolate cathedral-world where sorrowful, grotesque demons sob in corners.
Your goal? Run to them. Hug them. Bring peace.

Each hug saves a demon.
The faster you reach them, the more souls you bless — before the sacred hymn ends.
It’s a race against time — not to kill, but to comfort.

Core Features

  • Subversive FPS Mechanics – Run fast, but embrace instead of shoot.
  • Sorrowful Enemies – Sad, crying demons inspired by the DOOM bestiary.
  • Operatic Soundtrack – An original track blending religious overtones with tragic vocals.
  • Score-Based Gameplay – How many souls can you save before the music fades?
  • Minimalist Aesthetic – A surreal ruin-scape, half-cathedral, half-dream.

Jam Award

Originally created during a game jam hackathon.
Winner of the “Audience Choice” Special Nomination.

Controls

  • WASD — Move
  • Mouse — Look
  • Space — Jump

Note from the team

Team: sigmo4ka — a duo of two brave souls on a mission to hug demons.
This game was made under extreme time pressure, as an emotional and spiritual reversal of the shooter genre.
We wanted to create something absurd, touching, and strangely peaceful.

Thank you for playing. Hug responsibly.

Great family-friendly first person love and happines infliction game. Absolutely love it.

I love this game. Great concept of reverse ultraviolence. You like kissing demons, don't you?
